Hi, I’m Zoya.

I'm currently based in Sharjah, UAE. Well, I was born here, technically this city has always been my base - this and Karachi. I'm a cat mom. I have studied Media Science. I'm also a self-proclaimed student of the University of Internet - there's always something new to learn!

I love good storytelling in all it's forms; books, movies, photographs, theater, all of it. I love staying in, driving aimlessly by myself, animals, cloudy weather, discount codes, finding extraordinary in ordinary, jasmine in all forms, making emotional connections, bread in all shape and form, art that hits at deeper level, traveling, doing nothing, singing along, chai/coffee, discovering stories, good design, old people, very very young & smol people, people who are unapologetically themselves.

I'm also a self-portrait artist and a professional photographer. I became a self-portrait artist because I didn’t know how to express my thoughts, feelings and ideas to another model. Self-portraiture seemed the best option and it has grown over me more than anything else. My work has been exhibited at Sharjah Art Foundation’s community exhibitions (2014, 2015, 2016) and Gulf Photo Plus’ community exhibitions (2013, 2014), The Big Picture Exhibition Dubai (2014, 2015), published in One8One magazine, Gulf News and Worbz.

I really enjoy shooting events - including but not limited to - weddings, engagements, birthdays and parties in general where people come together to celebrate life with the people they love. I love documenting and preserving these days through my work. If you hire me, consider me absolutely emotionally invested. (Hit me up) Making lifelong friendships with people who were initially clients is the best feeling!
